I know they say how imperative parents are to the children, but you don't often hear the reverse. How their hugs heal you. How their laugh brightens your day. I don't have enough words to explain my gratitude for choosing me to be your mother but I want you to know it is endless. Because there is you, I chose to carry on. Because there is you I healed parts of me I never knew needed healing. Because there is you, I made changes to become the best version you could see. You inspired me to rediscover myself alone. To become the powerful woman who knows who she is and what she stands for. A woman who prioritized her wants and needs to function at her best ability. After all is said and done, becoming her allowed me to be the best mother I could be to you. I hope you are proud of me when you are old enough to see. I know God doesn't give more than we can handle and he did right by choosing me.
